Hiya All,

Wow what a time I had trying to shoot these today, musta been the weather as they were really feisty, I never got stung but they kept flying right at me head first like little battering rams, it was hellish when you got em hitting you in the face, still job done & here are the four shots, the IQ is not brill but it was fun

#1 ready
#2 steady
#3 go go go
#4 pull up on the stick quick

Hope you like

Cheers for now
Mark

Nice shots Mark and the story continues. We have our very own soap opera. :-) #3 show a fair bit of damage to the right wing. Must have been gunned down at one point :-)

Hiya Pete, Alby,

Many thanks for your kind words & comments,

Pete,
I'm sure I'll get zapped soon but I'm not bothered as I'm not allergic, yet !

Alby,
Nice one, I did notice the damage but not until it crash landed on the ground, I just cant get over the size of some of the soil these Wasps are shifting.

More WIFs tomorrow

Cheers for now
Mark

Hi Mark. Love the series. Must be disconcerting to have them ram you in the face knowing that they could do so much worse. Must be the proverbial shot across the brow.

Lovely shots Mark- but what are they doing ? digging a whole or collecting mud or something for their own nest building.?

My guess is they are taking the soil to a nest elsewhere. That first shot made me laugh..........'oh god its that flasher again!'.

Hiya Irwin, Adrian, David, Brian, RM,

Many thanks for your kind words & comments

Irwin,
Shot across the Bows more like a poke in the eye with a blunt stick I think

David,
If I get stung I'll shot the spot for ya

Brian, RM,
They are definately excavating a hole for their nest, the whole area on the ground & half way out into the road is littered with Current sized drops of Soil, I've noticed that a number of the wasps are bringing in what appears to be Potato Leafhoppers it's all getting very interesting.
If you look at this shot of the wall you will see little piles of almost Pea sized Stones these have all been excavated & dragged into place by these Wasps, I have never seen the likes of this before.

Got some more WIF shots to post tomorrow, had hellish day today & am absolutely well you know  tired

Cheers for now
Mark

Hiya Lawrie,

Humble apologies for not replying sooner, it's been a bit of a hectic weekend here so forum stuff had to take 2nd place I'm afraid.

Many thanks for your kind words & comments much appreciated as always.

Hopefully will be back fully posting again over the next few days, I looking to capture some of the Wasps as they're carrying what looks to be ' Potato Hoppers ' for feeding on or feeding something

Cheers for now
Mark
