I wish, but no - just thought others might find some humor with the comic. :)

I've developed my hearing to the point where I can hear the truck's distinct engine sound when it turns the corner onto my block, so I can meet him at the curb, with arms outstretched.

I only wish I got packages that had to be put on a dolly.

LOL, I recognize that too...I so prefer getting mail from FedEx, they come at 8am...UPS are slow, they come at 6pm. =oP I've given up on USPS, who knows when they'll show - in fact I've got two things in transit with USPS and it drives me looneys I can't get correct tracking for them, they always tell me 2 days past delivery that my items have been delivered. ARGH....is it THAT hard to get a decent online tracking system up and running?
So what did you order?

I didn't order anything! Just sharing a comic that we can all relate to. :)

But yes, I really prefer FedEx myself. They seem to have more respect for your packages and I've never had issues with them... Unlike say, USPS or UPS.

As for ordering gear that needs to be delivered on a handcart... I wish! Perhaps that'll be my 400mm f/2.8L one day. :p

I was in the kitchen making tea this afternoon when I heard the rolling thunder of that big brown bucket of glory rambling down my street. I literally jumped a jig and sqwee'd with glee. I started running towards the front window, and I can see the truck. It's turned onto my street! I can't remember at this point if I was running on air, or if my feet were even touching the ground. I skid to a halt just to watch the thing ramble right on by. Oh well. Tomorrow I guess. :( ;)

I’ve advocated putting a GPS tracking unit on the UPS truck and then you could log onto the web with your tracking number to see the truck as it makes his rounds delivering the packages. When the UPS truck turns onto your street an email message alerts you of his imminent arrival so you can meet him at the curb as he pulls up.

On a more serious note it always irks me when I click on the tracking link to see my package in my home town but not out for delivery. It would seem UPS/FedEx could allow you to come to their distribution center and claim your package the same day it arrives vs. having to wait another day for it to be delivered. This would save them gas and time not having to deliver it to my house and I would be a happy customer.

I've rearranged my furniture so when I'm at my desk I can see up the road and watch for any sign of the big beautiful, brown monster. Every time I hear a truck on the other side of the hill a shiver runs down my spine and i ready myself to sprint to the door. Why won't the UPS man come sooner, i'll bake him a pie if he drops my package off first =)

My UPS guy took mercy on me. He now comes between 2 & 2:30 pm every time he visits, leaving the guessing out of the scenerio. There was a stint in April where he was at my house with a B&H box sometimes twice a week. We have a reporte. So I'm 2&1/2 hours and counting until the new 24-105f/4 makes its debut on my doorstep. :)

We had a trucking company allow us to pick up a shipment 2 years ago at their center becuz the truck they wanted to bring in with our stuff wouldn't be able to turn around at the cul-de-sac...hubby picked it up that night rather than waiting for them to find a smaller truck. Unfortunantly it wasn't camera gear, just furniture. :p
FedEx can deliver to me all they want to but dang as slow as UPS is they should let you pick it up...my packages that come with UPS always leaves their center at like 5-6am but it takes them all darn day to make it to my house, and sad thing is their distribution center is 4 mins down the road. :( How sad is that?!
