Subject says it all. I just bought the 100-400 and it comes with a canon case. How do I attach it to my bag? It would have been nice if it was one of those velcro loops.

Occasionally, it is nice not to carry the bag. In those circumstances you could put a strap on the Canon lens case and sling it over your shoulder. Otherwise, ithe lens is always in my backback. That case is so soft and flimsy that it really wouldn't serve to protect the lens inside. ...Leo

Stefan There comes a time when a boy turns into a man and needs to purchase a man sized bag. As much as you may have loved your Slingshot 200 it's time to step up to a Domke. You don't need to get rid of your Slingshot, you can still keep it on the top shelf of your closet where mine now lives Nikon D3, D300, 10.5 Fisheye, 35 f/1.4, 50 f/1.4, 85 f/1.4, Zeiss 100 f/2, 105 f/2.5, 200 f/4 Micro, 200 f/2, 300 f/2.8, 14-24, 24-70, 70-200, SB-800x4, SB-900, SU-800, (3) Sunpak 120J (2) Profoto Acute 2400s,Chimera softboxes, (4)PW Multimax, (6) C-stands, (3) Bogen Superbooms, Autopoles

I'd suggest you look at this or the slightly smaller F-2. You can even store your camera with the 100-400 mounted. Now I think I'm going to need another bag if I wish to add the 10-22 to my lens lineup and to think a mos ago when I got mine I thought it was plenty large enough. Good Luck and keep us informed to what you get. James

Jul 09, 2007 17:43 | #10 Looks like I spoke too soon. I managed to get the lens easily into the Slingshot 200 along with ALL of my other gear (no S2IS). This includes 3 lens hoods (not attached), filters, and cleaning supplies. It's quite a heavy bag - but it fits. Plus, with the exception of my 50 1.8, I can easily take out any of these items from the "slung" position without opening the bag all the way. Very cool. 80D, Canon 17-55mm f/2.8, Canon 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6, Canon 50mm f/1.4, Canon 70-200mm F/4L,Tokina 11-16 f/2.8, Canon 100-400 f/4.5-5.6, Kenko 1.4 TC, Canon 580 exII Speedlite, ebay wireless trigger, Genesis 3 light kit

I really need a bag badd... was considering the crumpler 7 mdh, but from all reports, I cannot store the 70-200 mounted to the camera vertically, only horizontally. I do not want a very bulky bag though and the F-2 is cloth right - will water seep through? I'm hoping to acquire the sigma 120-300 f/2.8 next year, which is another consideration, but right now all I have are the lens in my sig and the 50 1.4 recently acquired. To OP - I'm so sorry for interposing this question on your thread but I had tooooooooooo ![]() While I prefer the F-1x bag, the Domke F-7 is deeper and will support two pro sized cameras with 70-200 f/2.8 glass with reversed hoods vertically. The cloth is pretty water resistant but its not protecting your gear if it goes overboard. The cloth is pretty water resistant but its not protecting your gear if it goes overboard. You can't get two bags more opposite than the Crumpler and Domke. Domke's give you the minimal padding to protect your gear, the Crumplers have far more padding than is necessary which cuts down on the amount of room in your bag for storing gear. Besides, who wan'ts to buy a bag that has the same person coming up with its names as Ben and Jerry uses for coming up with the names of their new flavors ![]() Hey thanks. I really want to store the 70-200 vertically and my other lenses too (I'm starting to get over changing lenses outside the house - it is getting pretty limiting not taking stuff out of the house). I'll check out the f-7. I'm also looking at the urban disguise, but it seems like they are out of stock everywhere. I think I pretty much eliminated the crumpler. 1D-IIN, 30D, sigma 120-300, 24-105 IS f4 L, 70-200 IS f2.8 L, 50 1.4, 580 EX, Bogen 680B/3229
