I know it's hardly motorsport but it does have an engine and you could race it so I guess it just about fits the rules.

Anyway... I went out with my Son yesterday, He's 31 but an overgrown kid at heart (just like the rest of us I guess), mostly he's into RC aircraft, but this time he wanted to try out a truck. It's absolutely mad. Two forward gears and reverse, runs off some kind of nitro mix and goes like stink!

Taken on the 1DIIn with a 200mm f/2.8. TV at 1/500, mostly around f/5.6 with AI servo. All probably cropped around 50% or so. I had a hell of a time just keeping it in the frame let alone thinking about nice composition. Great fun though! But I think I'll give the 300mm a try next time.

Is that the traxxas tmaxx?

I asked the question, and it turns out that it's a Team Associates Monster GT. Made in the USA. Other than that I've no idea if it's a well known make or not?

Many thanks to everyone for the comments. I think the IQ has suffered a bit because I had to crop so much, I'm pleased with them but I definitely need more practice, and I'll certainly try a slightly longer lens next time! But I was surprised how well the AI servo focussing coped with the majority of the shots.

cheers
Bill

<Geek alert>

Team Associated actually, and they are probably the best-known RC manufacturer. If you discount Tamiya. I used to race for them a few years back.

</geek alert>

Great shots btw. I must find some local races and get shooting some of this stuff myself.

The gravel in number one completely makes the picture, CONGRATS.

And number two is he going into the fall or is he coming out of it onto all fours?
It keeps me guessing.

Great job

www.traxxas.om (external link)

check out the Revo. it is extremely fast and suspension setup like a serpent. Shocks lay down with rockers instead of straight up. I raced one for a couple years, handles extremely well and very fast.

NICE PICS BTW. I tried shooting R/C stuff a couple times but it is worse than firwworks in my opinion...

Gear List? My gear is bigger than yours? Just shoot have fun...
