howdy! i haven't posted any moto here in a while, but i got a new sigma 10-20 and decided to try it at the motocross track. my 70-200 f/2.8 is great for this kind of work, but the wigma may be my new favorite. you have to work in close, but with a fill flash, polarizer, and an umbrella to protect you from roost, it can be a lot of fun!

Nice shots. I have followed Hofmaster for a number of years as he was originally from Illinois before he moved to Texas a couple of years ago.

Great shots, good use of the UWA. Maybe a bit of second curtain synch and a slow shutter for interesting effects. Good job though

Great stuff. Works well on the inside of a corner, have to be very close with the 10-20 though... I have one... very wide. I really like mine, just don't use it much. Will have to my finger out this weekend and give it a go!

thanks for the good words, everybody! this lens is an absolute hoot.

on the second curtain shutter comment - tell me more! there are actually two in this series where i attempted the technique for the first time. i used a shutter of about 1/25 and tried to pan with the subject. results were mixed...

does it work better at night?

Nice shots Will. I sold my only wide angle (17-40) but borrowed one for Red Bud. It takes courage to shoot that wide on a MX track that's for sure. The only shot I don't care for is the 2nd one. It just looks too over done.
