A work friend of my wife came over Saturday morning so that I could take another stab at maternity shoots. The first and only other one I have done was of my wife a couple days after I picked up some old white lightning strobes (first ever try with studio lighting). I posted up those pictures in this thread if you are interested in seeing if I've learned anything in the last three months. https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=301232

Anyways...here is a quick sample, please let me know what you think!

I looked at those on your website cuz I couldn't find a single thing I disliked about these. A few things I saw on the other ones that I'd do differently myself:
The shots with the sneakers, get more of the belly - less of a close up I suppose, to me it would be better with more of the roundness of the belly in there.
The ones with the blocks that spells "baby" on the belly, have her put her legs down so you see more of the belly's roundness, I know that might be hard if you're 41 weeks (I'm assuming since the tape measured 41cm), I had an awful time myself but it will be a quick shot to get and look better I think.
Otherwise they all look great, love the bow one, the measuring take (close up), and the Baby Noah in blocks infront of the belly, those were neat. You did awesome IMO. I'm definitely gonna have to try the blocks, bows and the measuring tape (which I forgot last time). The clock one made me laugh, that's sure how I felt with the last two. :)

I really love what you've done here, I think the lighting is really good (take that with a grain of salt since I have no clue whatsoever about lighting, but what you did works for me :))

The only slight critique I'd have to offer is that I'd prefer her turned a bit more to the side in the second shot. It would slim her hips (please forgive me for saying this) and make her beautiful tummy look more pregnant vs "OMG, I ate too much for dinner". I can't believe I'm writing this

I love her smile in #4

Gosh your lighting looks so nice.. really. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the shot on white.. it's so soft and pretty looking. I never shoot maternity on white and everytime I see it I think I should try it.

Great job! :)

Those are really, really, really good. I'm NOT good at maternity pics, I just don't like to do them, but sometimes I feel I have to. It is a great way to become the "Official Baby Photographer" to the family. Can't offer any c & c, am just really impressed with the everything. good work. sue cassidy

Thanks again Sue for taking the time to comment on my images...she was a little easier to pose than then 6 month old from the other thread. :)

Thanks Maureen! I'm not actually sure how old she is but this is her "second round" of pregnancies. She has a 18 year old and a 16 year old from her former husband...
