50 years old as a design but the C130J is only a few years old as a model
Re-engined, longer fuselage and wider wingspan. Plus glass cockpit. Ooops flight station in todays PC world :(

Australia needs an AC130 gunship.
I dont think many would mess with us if we had one of them and a decent fighter to protect it.

Aparently we are getting F-35s in a few years after our super-hornets get tired.

The Super Hornet is to replace the aged F111. We will have Super Hornets and F35 Lightning II in service at the same time. The F35 is not going to be ready for service till 2010 tio 2012
