Ok, I got careless and deleted a folder with a job on it before backing up ( I know better just got careless) Now I have retreived the files with a couple of different programs and they read as Canon .cr2 and jpegs but no image will show up.
The data shows the date, time and size of image but no program will allow it to open up. IFRAN, Breezebrowser, Photo Mechanic, Lghtroom or CS2 will allow the image to open. Anyone ever run into this if so was you able to open and resave the file?
Please let me know & I know dont get careless again. :(

Sounds like something was written to the hard drive after the deletion and before the recovery. If so, part of the file(s) may have been overwritten. If so, they are probably gone for good. :(

I've mentioned this on another post - sometimes the most basic programs will open files that the high-end apps can't. I've used Microsoft Paint to successfully open and re-save corrupt jpg and tiff files that Photoshop won't recognise.

(I realise this doesn't help with your Raws ...)
