My first SLR was a Yashica FX-D back in 1982 when I was 32. Then I got a Contax 139 Quartz, Kiron 70-200mm, Sunpak 422D flash . Lost it all when A burglar took it in 1987. Never replaced it until I purchased my first DSLR, a Canon 40D, on January 1st of this year. Now I'm trying to remember what I thought I knew back then.

Just noticed this is my 13th post and I made it on......Friday the 13th.

Canon 40D, Tokina 12-24mm f4, Canon 50mm f1.4, Canon 24-105mm f4L IS USM, Canon 70-200mm f4L, 580EX II.

I wanted a digital rebel when they first came out but could not afford one. Finally after college and a real job,

Digital Rebel XT from July 2006 to May 2008
40D from Jan 2008 to November 2008
5D from November 2008 to present

And some premium glass in between... that is where the money is tied up.

I first got in to photography about 4 years ago (I was 15), so my dad upgraded to the then new 30D and gave me his old 10D.

Lot of learning I did with that camera.

Olympus E330. Unfortunately, it didn't focus accurately with Sigma's 30mm. Was perfect for candid photography though with live view + articulating LCD screen. Dirt cheap as well.

Praktica SLR (E. German) in 1967. That would be for 35mm film. ;)

In 1969 I got a Nikon F Photomic FTn, still have it but I don't shoot film any more.

Thank you.

What brings me here, well the same that brought all of you together, a serious addiction to photography. That and theres no comparable Nikon forum.

I have a G10 (for me) & 40D too that i bought for my younger sister since she was going to take photography in high school, but she decided not to take it. Brand new in box, i wish i could trade it for another D300.
