I think I was 14 or 15 when I got my first good camera. It was a Canon AL-1 with a 50mm prime shortly after hitting the market. Then I added a 70-210mm when I had the money and a flash unit after that. Everything is still sitting here in good working condition.

Jon.

Pentax something or other, manual everything at age 25. Bought it, two lenses, a couple of filters all from a friend for $50! It was a great camera that went to it's eternal rest a few years ago :(

Exakta RTL 1000 (external link) with a 50mm f/1.8 lens to start, and soon after a 200mm Tamron. I think I was about 15 when I got it.

It may still be buried in a box downstairs, but I still have the Gossen Scout Selenium meter I used with it in my 35mm film camera bag.

My first SLR was a Canon Rebel 2000 in the mid 1990's. I'd been shooting with an Argus C3 rangefinder for about 25 years before that.

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

Praktica MTL 3 at 18. Graduated from that to an A-1, which I still have and occasionally use. 30D is the first digital SLR (or AF for that matter!)
