At about 12 or 13 my dad let me use his Miranda G. Then at about 23 I got a Canon 630, at 36 I got an Elan 7NE for about 1 month and saw the light to go to the 30D.

40D, 20D, 24-105 4.0L, 24 2.8, 70-200 2.8L, 18-55 kit lens, 2 x 430ex's, way too many extras to list and even more that I need

Canon EOS IX Lite @ 23.

I constantly talked about buying a DSLR so my dad gave me his SLR (He's not a photographer... he just happened to have an Advantix SLR). I thought it was a noble gift but later found out it sucked. I had to wait to develop my pictures only to find out they were horrible. And I'm in the military so I live overseas in an area void of any 1 hour processing. I had to use internet developing services and it only made it worse.

It helped though. I finally broke down and purchased my Canon Rebel XT (350D) @ 24.

Mine was a Minolta SRT-201 back in 1972 or so. Hauled it around on the back of my motorcycle for a couple of years.
