This tiny Wasp was able to fold its wings up so it could inject these Aphids :).

I`ve got some rogue light problems at the moment - trying to sort it out ...

[Not great shots but slightly interesting]

Wonder catch! It seems like it's a different species that Brian captured? This one looks even smaller.......just amazing how they can flod their wings.

looks like it has a small appendage on it's tail that folds them up out of the way.

what do you suppose is the purpose of injecting the aphids?

Isn't that neat. Look like the wasp is using its ovipositer to lay eggs in the aphid.

Super catch Gordon, those aphids look huge, that must have been a tiny wasp I'm amazed you spotted it.

is that a dead aphid next to it too. some of them looks bigger than the wasp.

Excellent captures Gordon-
not the same brachonid I've caught injecting eggs in aphids- that one folds it's abdomen under it's body and walks in backwards if you see what i mean.

As for the size - i`m not too sure but - this is an 11mm frame so guage for yourself :).

I would guess 1mm to 1.5mm ?.
