Hi, my name is Kathy and I'm new in this forum. I posted once earlier in the "people" forum and was successful in getting an image posted, so now I'm going to try it again in here(different images). These are from a recent engagement shoot for a Sept. wedding. I have been photographing people for about 30 years, but only about 4 years with digital. Wedding photography is a hugh part of my life, but unfortunately posting photos on here isn't yet, so if I do this wrong, please let me know. If these images make it on okay, please feel free to tell me what you think.

Welcome Kathy!

I think this photo is a great shot!

I really enjoy the B&W conversion and I can really get a sense of the couple's affection and playfullness from it.

It's a winner in my books!

Warm welcome to the forum Kathy! If you have the images on your website you could try to link to it directly from there instead of using the attachment feature.

A very cute couple for sure!

Thank you all for the nice comments. I am going to try this again and see if this one works. Thanks for being patient! By the way if this one makes a show on here I will add that I know the frame is a little silly with the train theme, but it was their choice.

OOOh, that's cute with the frame... not silly. It fits so well with the colorful background!

You say you're new to digital, I guess it also means that you're struggling to make the images pop? The second image looks a bit flat, but it might be that you use Adobe RGB color profile and on the web only sRGB works.

A great book for you would be to pick up Scott Kelby's book about Photoshop for digital photographers. It gives you many pointers on how to make your images pop and look great both on screen and in print. He has written several books, due to the upgrades of Photoshop, so the current one about CS3 will be out in the beginning of August.

Yea! It made it.

Petra, Now you're going to find out how behind the times I really am......I don't have a web site:oops: . I have just been a photographer forever and never bothered to get with the program and learn about much of anything that had to do with outside advertizing. Word of mouth and knowing lots of people have put the bread on the table for me for many years and I have foolishly told myself that I couldn't handle any more work anyway. I am now beginning to come to the reality that I better start doing what the rest of the world is or I'm eventually going to start losing clients. So this is where I'm at:)

Kathy,

Nice pictures! You are doing better than me since I am still trying to post my first picture. I received some advice from other good folks here this morning, so I am going to try again. But here is the link they sent me...https://photography-on-the.net/forum/...d.php?t=290249

I do not have a website yet either

Kathy I love that 2nd shot! What a unique idea!

Did you guys carry around that frame for the whole shoot then? Jeesh what a bummer, but I love the outcome of it - it was worth it!

I'd give it a bit of a curves adjustment though, it seems a little on the flat side.

Kathy, don't be ashamed of that. You've been successful for 30 years without a website, after all! :D

Just take baby steps with all this new technology. No need to do it all at once! And, you could always upload your images to photobucket or something like that too... it even gives you the right code to link to the images.

We have so many skills on this forum, that I'm sure you'll be able to get guidience about almost any aspect of the new technology. The main thing is that you produce good images and get the result you want and expect from your gear.

You should also chat with our lovely Stu - he's an "old timer" who also changed to digital recently. He knows all the pitfalls and things like that, so I'm sure he can help you ease into the new era as well. And if you ever have any Photoshop questions, don't hesitate to ask - I'd be happy to guide you through the maze of Photoshop. :D

I agree, now that you point it out, it does look kinda flat. I do have some Scott Kelby books but I'm really bad about studying them, I just look up things I have problems with. Anyway, here are 2 more from a different couple that will wed in Aug.
