It's a discontinued lens, I'm not sure how it is optically.

I've heard varying accounts on it - I think there's a review page on FM. If you can get one for under US$230 go for it.

I've seen some good shots from one although I think it was stopped down quite a bit. Most of the positive comments about it came from Nikon users. Canon users generally thought it was average. I wonder if the 2 versions are built differently? Well it still gives you 400mm at f5.6...
