Hiya All,

Lean pickings today as I'm rather tied up being general Dogs Body :lol:

As I was sat here at my PC I happened to look at the wall ( as you do ) & noticed this tiny speck crawling up the wall 1mm max. I got one shot off & the blighter musta been spooked by the Flash as it had vanished into thin air.

It wasn't until I got it up on the Monitor that I realised what it was :lol: a

' Book Louse ' Liposcelis bostrychophila at least that's what I think it is

Anyway here's the shot it's been cropped rather heavily & the IQ's not that bad considering ??

I did think about it being a Bark Louse but I remembered Posting a shot of one before thinking the same as you, now this is where I fall down because I can't remember who pointed out to me that it was a Book Louse, I have a feeling it may have been RM ??

I ID'd this shot of mine from these two links if they work it's the only half decent pics I could find online.

I don't know how I spot these as they're 2mm at their biggest mine was 1mm at best, all I can say is my Optician is damn good. :lol:

those psocids are pretty tiny so detail is excellent for a heavy crop.

Humble apologies for not replying sooner, it's been a bit of a hectic weekend here so forum stuff had to take 2nd place I'm afraid.

Many thanks for your kind words & comments much appreciated as always.

Just hope I don't find to many of these as I fear for the health of my books.

Hopefully will be back fully posting again over the next few days once fully recovered from the weekend fun
