Nice set, I like the beetle. It has a look of oxidised copper about it.

Thanks everyone.

Jooorb, I'm using a reversed lens for macro, I have the aper. set at f/11 but there is still a narrow plane of focus, I was likely zoomed in a little more on those shots as well. I try to get more side on or angled shots to have more of the body in focus, but in these I wanted to show the snout.

Hiya Trevor,

Great series of shots, I gota feeling that your Iridescent Beetle is the ' Polydrusus impressifrons ' Weevil ??

http://images.google.co.uk …06-41,GGLJ:en-GB%26sa%3DN (external link)

damn link won't take you to the shot but if you click on this link then copy/paste Polydrusus impressifrons
into the search on that page it should take you to a single shot under sub titles matching images, double click the image & it should take you a large shot Titled ' Pale Green Weevil - Polydrusus impressifrons '

God knows why I can't get it to link directly hope this all makes sense

Cheers for now
Mark

Great shots, love your titles too, especially "Sniffing the wind"; it really looks like the bug is doing it. :)
