The date is not set in stone, suggest a different one.

Would september be better anyway - as the weather is likely to be crap throughout August.....

Would one of the islands be an idea? Rangitoto, Waiheke or somewhere like that?

I think that it is GKPE VIII - VI was Glenbrook, VII was Thames/Wairere. Not that it matters!

We've done Rangitoto, though why not have a second trip.
West beaches have been done tons..

I like the idea of Waiheke, Serra :)

We could do another indoor/studio type shoot like we did last winter. Then it wouldn't matter if the weather was bad. Followed by a pot luck dinner, or a meal out? What say you?

We could even chip in to hire a model:shock: if nobody volunteers, or we could make it a family friendly, bring the kids to get their photo taken kinda thing.

Who has studio lights? Any ideas for a venue?
I'll talk to Pete and Tony about using their lights etc.

That can be done any day of the week, all you need to do is ask.
I have been offering the use of my studio to the group for the last 6 months

I have been thinking of an outing for some time, a bit different & possibly a bit of a lighting challange. It would take a bit of orgainising and possibly safety inductions & the like but how about a trip to say the steel mill (tapping a pot) or the glass works with its super hot pot??. I know someone at the steel mill (they even got themselves into trouble a number of years ago for taking a siloetted (spelling??) rear view naked picture with a pot being tapped as a background. Very cool (well hot) photo but they got a big telling off. I don't know anyone at the glassworks but know a little about its gas burner system, pretty heavy duty stuff.

If anyone thinks its worth a go at some stage in the future, I'll do a bit of work for it but as I say, it would take a bit of orgainising.

I would LOVE a tour of the steel mill, being able to do it with a camera would just be even better.
