I was recently asked if I could take some shots of a friends son who is in little league. Thats not a problem, but she is wanting "sports cards" made.

Now I know that mpix has a template for baseball cards but I was wondering if any of yall know if there is anyplace that has the option for a 'vintage baseball card' layout?

Example below.

Im sure the 'flashy new age card' look is more desirable but would like to have the option. Thanks for any help:D

I don't know the answer but I want to say to the mods. Please don't move this thread to the discussion forums. I asked a similar question with sports cards last week and got several responses and leads then my thread was moved and died. I know this is "picturing sharing" but it's also the best place to get the proper answers for this type of question.

I'd look for some free vintage actions for photoshop and give those a try. And then try to find a grungy type picture and overlay it and mix it with the original pic however you want. That's how I'd try and do it for free, good luck.

Anyone else with some info would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a place that will print it on the card stock that is used for trading cards?

Or if push comes to shove would I have to print it myself, on a higher end printer of course?

you could just make one. Photoshop it and then just add the photo in a new layer...

here is a link to some templates from HP. They are layouts of "vintage" Topps cards (1966, 1969 & 1980). It also has not so "vintage" years too (1999, 2004 topps and 2004
). Hopefully this site helps a little.

I have recently started using a new processing company and they produce trader cards that are printed on a card stock with more of a baseball card feel. They use the standard templates, and would think they could print a regular image as well but have not asked that question.

If they can, this would allow you to create your own template and export it from Photoshop in finished format that they could in turn print. Below is their web site. I have found their customer service group to be outstanding and would suggest giving them a call if you want to pursue further. Hope this helps.
