Hello everybody
readong the threads in this forum I was convinced that editting pictures in 16 bits in PS CS offers more flexibility and more quality control. but it happens that when I open a Raw format pic. in 16 bits, many fonctions (in Filter window for examlple) cannot be activated anymore opposed to editting in 8 bitds where its possible.
could you guys who are used to work in 16 bits and PC CS enlighten me on this please
regards
Khalid

Yes, many filters are not usable in 16bit mode (for any format, tiffs, psd, etc).
However, PS CS has many more functions available in 16bit mode than previous versions.
16bit mode is generally used for accurate colour manipulation/correction.
If you want to use some of the fancy schmancy filters, you must use 8bit mode.
