Just got a HP dvd 1040e external DVD Writer, and guess what it does not come with any software to be able to create a graphic and lightscribe.

Still I am the silly one for not checking.

Do any of you have any fav or recomended software programmes?

Thanks for your help.

Surely it came with a CD containing software. The lightscribe imaging software is on that.

Where are you based?

Actualy, if you've got an HP Photo printer (I use one to print onto white-top CD's) it ALSO has the ability to burn an image onto the top of lightscribe CD's.

I have a lightscribe drive, the problem I find is that media is more expensive than standard blank CD/DVD's - and an image takes about 1/2 hour to create! (althjough I believe there is media avialable now that will burn the pic in about half that time (and maybe it's about twice the price)

Nero does light scribe. But my HP1040e drive came with software that has a light scribe option on the top.

Yes media is more expensive but I think it may be worth it, as it keeps reinforcing your brand. I have just used a mates disc and took 16 mins to burn an image and some text.

Thanks borrowed a Nero disc and away. Any ideas how to put text down the spine of a DVD inlay card. Cant find a rotate option for the text box.

I was using LightScribe for my firedancing DVDs. I recently switched over to printable media for time and money constraints.

I'm sure the LightScribe homepage (external link) has some information on what you can do.
