My prints turn out much darker than the image on my monitor. So, I bought a Huey Pro and the first one I did was very close, but subsequent prints all turn out darker than my monitor shows them to be. And as I shot most of my stuff at the "golden hours", there is little tolerance for error. Anybody have this happen? I have a 19" HP LCD and an Epson RX580 printer.

Canon 40D, Sigma 17-70, Sigma 10-20, nifty 50, 50 1.4, 85 1.8, 70-200 4L, 70-200 f/2.8 IS, 430 EX, Manfrotto monopod, tripod and ball head, Tamrac MAS system

Have you calibrated your monitor with your printer.
I scanned a color chart from Epson and printed it , reset my printer to match the color chart.

Strange that one image worked, and the rest doesn't...
Any changes made in between?

Have a read in the link from my sig on soft-proofing...

Dealing with the same thing, and after talking to people that are pro's with this I have found out a couple things........#1 It will NEVER exactly match. Just the difference of a backlit screen, and a piece of paper that light is falling on. However what they have told me is after countless trys you can get a ballpark on what adjustments you need to make to get it the closest....brightness, contrast, Sat. Once you start to get it farily consistent then what you do is create a action for that paper.....Say "Pre Luster Print".......Glossy Print.....etc.

Of course you will still soft proof, and I have found when I check "paper color" that helps alot too.

I am still not getting it perfect, but what I mentioned above has at least stopped me from going insane.....LOL.........well somewhat, I still ran out and bought a 24" IMac thinking it would be better than my PC....LOL

Speaking of which.........make sure to go to their site for the updated icc's. That helped me more than anything. Using the 2400.
