I'm very pleased with Photoshop Elements 5. It has a very good tool set which covers most of the basic photo editing needs. Obviously CS3 is much more powerful but then it is nearly 10 times the price.
Also, if you are shooting RAW it is ideal as the 5.02 update includes a version of ARC 4.1.

photoshop elemtens 5 is more more more heave ,slow then cs2 or cs3 ....

3 analogic Hasselblad and 2 anologic Mamiya

I don't recall Elements being noticeably slower than Photoshop, but I haven't used it in quite a while. I can't imagine there's much you'll want to do that you can't do with Elements 5.

Sorry but I don't know what "more more more heave" means.
I have'nt found Elements 5 slow. I downloaded the trial version of CS3 and while the editor is great I found Bridge much slower than elements.

A lot depends on the speed of your computer. PS CS3 runs great on my home PC even with Bridge, IE and several other programs open. On my work computer, which is thankfully going to be replaced in a couple of months, CS3 runs like a dog. It takes forever to do anything, and forget about having Bridge open at the same time, as that triples the time it takes to do anything.
