I have CS3 on both my g4 laptop and my pc. When i connect my EOS 5d to the mad can do a image capture i get all the raw images. But i edit on my pc. When i plug in the 5D to the pc and try and capture the images whether it be from cs3 , microsoft image capture or IE explorer. I can not get any raw images to show up. I have the Canon image capture and the updated drivers.

HELP!

My experience with RAW capture is it's reliable on a Mac and both frustrating and unreliable on a PC. I think there are alternate programs not from Canon that can do it and do a better job on a PC. Maybe CaptureOne?

try using lightroom or camera raw. So the canon digital photo professional you're using is not working properly?

I personally always use a card reader. It is faster and doesn't drain the camera battery. I only shoot raw and have never had a problem with any camera I have owned. When I upgraded to the Dell 2407, it has a card reader built in. It takes about 3-4 minutes to dump 200+ raw images.

Do you have the EOS Utilily downloader installed? Get the latest version 2.0.2 recently updated for Vista. Also, if your OS is XP it will have to be SP2.

The SanDisk CF card reader has a neat utility that auto runs when you insert a card, you can dump the shots to anywhere you like or set up a pre-defined folder, and it'll delete the shots from your card after if you want it to. You then click to go to the folder. Super fast download and nice to use. I usually then view and delete the junk in Faststone Image Viewer. A right click and the shot you want opens in your RAW application. I use Bibble which is highly recommended. Once processed you click a menu item and it opens in CS. Very fast and easy workflow.
