Don't dodge.

Use the magic wand, select the whites, desaturate to say %25 then increase brightness on the slider above. Salt to taste. I try to do the teeth at the same time so that they match.

Make sure you can't TELL the eyes have been done.

people will always try to stop you doing the right thing if it is unconventional
Full frame and some primes.

This is the method I use as well. One thing to add to it. You may have to use the blur tool (just a couple pixels wide) afterwards to create a softer edge around the eyes and the pupils to so it doesn't look like a hard definition between the two entities.

Sorry, I forget to add that. Good call. I feather 2 pixels. Don't use blur, use feather edges.

Magic wand is clumsy and unreliable. Get used to using Quick Mask.

I don't have any wise advice for eyes, but for teeth, this is my tip:

1. Loosely select the mouth (I use Quick Mask, of course, but even lasso tool will do)
2. Open Hue/Saturation and choose "Yellows"
3. Increase the lightness (bottom slider) of yellows as required. Often somewhere between +60 and +100. This will change the yellows towards white.

I agree with what Cosworth said - don't go overboard, or it will be too obvious that you've been retouching the photo.
