wedding c&c please

I was a candid shooter at a wedding, this is straight out of the camera and one of my fav. of the day. I also have it in raw form. Any advise on pp?

Great shot i would take out that lil black spot on the right mid of the picture!

It's a little drab... Try to increase brightness, little contrast and bump up the saturation just a touch. Mind if I edit and post?

YES of course you may edit the pic. along with what you did would be great!

I like to remove blemishes, moles etc. from people and give them a flawless pic. Doesn't matter if it reflects reality, it looks good and I've never had someone ask to have them put back. I would like to see some work at the eye area to clean up the dark area under them and to get a bit of subtle catchlight into the iris of the eye as well.

Could you crop so the top of the door frame is not included"? you may have to lose things on the bottom and the side to keep the aspect ratio right, but see what you can do without losing anything crucial.

Overall, nice work. Love that you see the detail of the back of the dress. Nice angle. Beautiful bride. sue cassidy

If you go back to User CP, you'll see Edit Profile on the left side. If you go in there, in the additional information block, you'll see something about image editing. If you tick that box, it'll show other users that you're fine with them editing your photos... Just a suggestion so that you don't have to answer that question all the time...

I did just what I said a few posts up. I increased the brightness then upped the saturation til she had some color to her skin. Then I went back and adjusted brightness and added some contrast.

Thanks, it is amazing what a little adjustment can do in photo shop.

I shoot RAW about 98% of the time and I do a lot of my color adjustments there. I'll normally bump up the saturation and play with the temperature just a scosh.

Shultsjh. Your adjustments for the face is good, but detail in the dress has been lost in particular the beading.

Good catch... totally missed that. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for that next time. I tend to focus on faces and skin tone.

Thanks for the tips. I am just learning about RAW, so I set the camera to shoot raw and jpeg at the same time. sure takes up a lot of memory though.

Why not just shoot RAW alone? I'm sure you can set your editor to process multiple files and save them all as jpeg if it gets overwhelming to do every single photo.

I guess I am just scared to take the plunge. the "what if something goes wrong". I am more familiar with jpeg. I think the more I get familiar with raw I will just shoot raw. the only time I have shot raw is weddings. I probably should just start shooting raw all the time. That would force myself to learn darn fast.!!

I shoot raw + the small jpeg - that way I have proofs already made out of the camera!
