So who is going to buy the Nikon D700?

Nikon really is on a roll at the moment. Maybe canon will wake up and do something about it soon?

Yeah, although the pop-up flash is pretty stupid. As they rate the D700 as a semi professional / professional camera. That is probably why the view finder is only something like 95%. Because of that dum pop up flash.

I am suprised at the price of the D3 body only. It comes in at around 6.5k-7k. That is a good price for a professional camera. No doubt it will become more competitive when the d700 comes out.

Most Cameras have less than 100% view finders. Forget what the 5D is....97-98% from memory, but it is less than 100%.

wow didnt know that. I wonder how much % mine is :p

I added something to my wish list :o

Decided to ditch the 35mm. Go for the 50mm F1.2L + 17-40mm.

thoughts? first reactions?

I'm quite partial to the shell, SS.

Even though it's particularly soft, it suits the image. The colouring / hue is just right, too.

that's looks like a nice camera, and nice specs

I wouldn't mind it, instead of getting the replacement of the 5D :)

but however it will mean replacing all my lens, again it's a cost thing.

A friend of mine here in Germany who is also a Kiwi and is a great photographer changed over to Noink when the D200 came out. He has just changed back to Canon. He sais that after working for a few years with Noink, the Canon images are just better. He got a 5D.
