So how does he acheive that?

Don't ask me I'm not a sports photographer.

Well I wouldn't know anything about conveying emotion

And by sticking your head in the sand at the first hurdle (this one) you'll never learn. You know every last anal thing there is to know about cameras, time to start to try and open up how you use all that knowledge. ;)

Cheers, Dave.

Thanks Matt. The forground is perhaps a little dark, but I really like it.

Good luck with your trip to the dark side.

Cheers, I actually feel somewhat relieved my Canon is gone... Do not know why but it feels refreshing. Finally can work my way to a goal.

MATT

To be honest I don't really feel the need to learn. I take photos to please myself (and they do), sure it's nice if other people think it's nice, but thats ultimately irrelevent for me

Sports photogaphy involes a different set of skills

#know the sport, understand the game etc
#its about intution, knowing whats going to happen next
#timming you work in 100ths of a second
#passion ......

I will never understand why I loved motor sport so much. Ive never raced, I hate noise and my reactions are way to slow.
Yet I understood what was going on.
Bit like birds in flight (BIF) except they are more eratic in there path.

Lance, You know... I have no idea how you take these photos... I can never get decent macro shots at this kind of distance... by the time I've focused they've moved and are out of focus again. Just stunning work.
