HDR post-processing question

I have just started experimenting with HDR images and after trying a few shots yesterday have been wondering whether PP should be done on RAW files (ACR, DPP, etc.) before merging them into an HDR image or is it better to leave them untouched until after merging? It seems reasonable to process the normally-exposed image, using ACR in my case, and then batch process the others with the same corrections. The corrections that I anticipate making are color temperature, sharpening, and chromatic aberration. It would probably be foolish to adjust brightness, contrast, and exposure before HDR merging since the reason for using HDR is to address those areas.

In my personal experience I've found it best to merge the untouched images first, then process the final image.

I guess so many possible workflow avenues exist for HDR, they're endless. I have found it to be the opposite.

Thanks for the replies. I guess that there are no hard and fast rules so whatever works best for me appears to be the answer.
