Just another image from Yosemite. I never get tired of it, but it might be the most photographed place on earth ;)

I had to get this image with the lovely warmth from the last few minutes of life on the face of Half Dome.

Looks like it was taken from the Curry Village parking lot! ;) You did a great job framing the trees, yet mindful of the cars on the bottom....well done!

I agree on the framing with the trees. If there is anybody who knows this place better than anybody, it's HikinMike! :)

Thanks Mike,

It was actually from the Lower Pines campground, but same general direction as Curry.

See you there tomorrow ??

I will be visiting again with my daughter and two exchange students from Spain.
I guess you can count on me posting something again in the next day or two. ;)

I'm sorry Ed, I was being rude.
This is a nice picture and good use of the surrounding area as framing. One thing I like about this angle is that you can clearly see "The Diving Board". (One little feature of Half Dome that I have not had the desire to stand on top of. )

No problem on the exchange there :) As for the Diving Board, I know what you mean. There is a similar protrusion in a rock formation in Australia's Grampians National Park called The Balconies. My wife convinced me to stand on that for a photo she wanted when we were there in '93. *shiver* I'm not very good with heights, and that formation used to be known as "The Jaws of Death". Only about a 2,000 foot drop. I'd post the image (I don't look very happy), but that was taken in the days before digital, and I don't have a scanner at home.

I'm a Yosemite junkie and it looks like you took it from right next to the river in Lower Pines. Am I close? :p

Very close, but the spot at the river doesn't have the tree framing. It's a short bit downstream from there, in one of the campsites next to the river (sadly not my campsite) :)

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p
