Hi everyone

Im peter and im new to this forum. Taking photos is also new to me. I have just purchased a powershot s500 after reading great reviews everywhere and figred its a great starter camera.

With the camera came access to the Canon image gateway and 100mb space to post my photos  I have realised after only a very short time that macro photography is what grabs me.

I would love some feedback on my first images positive or negative. I have posted 10 at the gateway. Please post your e-mail address here so the system sends the invitation for you to view the the photos.

I have been trying desperately to take some decent macro images but have discarded about 99% of what i have taken. The problem being that when taking the shots everything seems fine on the LCD only to find on the computer that focus was on the wrong element.

Any advice welcome, a thousand thaks in advance, Peter

Hello Peter,
Welcome to the forum, however, you are going to find that not many are going to leave their e-mail addresses for you. Whilst the Canon image gateway is fine for family and friends its not much use on this forum,

What you need to do is set-up a free account with http://www.fotopic.net (external link) or http://www.pbase.com (external link) then you will be able to link your photographs to the forum and people will be able to view them and give comment.

Its quite straight forward but should you need any help then send me a PM (private message) and l'll do my best.

Look foward to seeing you photos, regards
David

Nice shots. I like the 6th one best, the yellow flower with what looks like a bug at its center. Very sharp and interesting flower.

My fav is the 6th one. I like the way that the blurred spots of blue contrast with the sharp yellow in the foreground.
