Hey everyone. This is my first post, I was wondering if anyone had advice as to where the best place to purchase the xti would be? Online or store such as Circuit City? I have really enjoyed reading all your postings, and I look forward to any advice you could share.

Kim : )

I buy most of my equipment from www.bhphoto.com (external link) in New York City. If you search the forum you will find lots of information on them. Good luck and welcome. Dennis

There are many reputable dealers once your open to the online route. B&H is one but clearly not the only Some others include
17 Street photo - http://www.17photo.com/ (external link)
Adorama - http://www.adorama.com/ (external link)
Buydig or Beach Camera - http://www.beachcamera.com/shop/home.aspx (external link)
And there are many others. Best thing is look for the lowest price and check out their rating on Resellers Ratings. http://www.resellerratings.com/store/ (external link)
If they are scoring a 8 or above, there are pretty reputable. If 5 or less, got to one scoring 8 or above.

I highly recommend Beach Camera - have purchased no less than three cameras from them in the past and each of those transactions was great.

Beach also has free shipping, for 7-9 day delivery. I have used that a number of times - don't mind waiting a few extra days for "free". I think that is a great option that they offer on most of their orders. You are most likely going to pay double-digit shipping at B&H or other online retailers.

I've bought about 75% of my gear through Amazon.com but I've also used B&H and Adorama. Have had only good service from all three. Generally, I just go with who has the lowest price including shipping. If it is close, I tend to buy from Amazon, just because I've bought lots of other stuff from them too.

Shipping is one of those overlooked perks that some sellers give. My last purchase from Beech saved me almost $50 because of their free shipping.

Excellent example of Beach Camera saving someone some money.

Online is generally cheaper , but if you get an insurance policy , it's easier to deal locally . Just be aware that the person you buy from may have been selling hamburgers yesterday and tomorrow he may be selling washing machines .
Finding someone who you can talk to about the camera is next to impossible to find selling cameras .
Come back here and post what you get and where .
The next day you will probably have questions and be back anyway .
Please post any questions you have , some of us have same questions - but don't know how to word question .
