Hiya All

I've not had any time of late to get some shooting in so ere's one or three I made earlier :lol:

I think this is a ' Summer Chaffer ' Amphimallom solstitialis as opposed to the Common Cock Chaffer

I had the Patio Doors open & it flew right into an Ostrich Feather that was in some weird arrangement that Ami had made, I managed to get a few shoots off.

#3 is a very quickly grabbed shot as it fell on it's back then flew off again.

Ami is as terrified of these as she is of Spiders, she has a strange name that I'd never heard of before for the Chaffer, a ' Billywitch ' apparently they're called this over in East Anglia thats the East Coast of the UK.

Hi mark it's funny you should mention that localised name as here in Portsmouth they were know as DoodleBugs. I wonder how many more local names there are for these. Thank god for scientific names. :-)
