I think it is a female Bearded tit, but feel free to correct me as I'm not sure

Hi all, been a longggg time since I posted a shot here. First birding shots I'd taken in months were last weekend, was in Norfolk and got some very nice evening sunshine.

The first one I've ever seen (whatever it is) and I really enjoyed capturing it and watching its behaviour between the reedbeds. Thanks for looking.

A lovely shot with fine sharp detail and great light.

No comment about the species other than I thought all the tit variants were the same for both genders ~ only the juvenilles being different.

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

I think it might well be a juvienille then, seeing as it doesn't quite match the markings that are in my guide, I'll look up the Juvenille, see what I can find.

Thanks again for looking.

Beautiful capture,
A little nit-pic, if possible, I would have cropped it with a little more room to the left.

Got me Googling and found this image of what is described a Female Juvenile http://www.treknature.com …e/Ukraine/photo120891.htm (external link) no great help, maybe. Will have to keep looking as I hate a mystery ;)

My Readers Digest Book of British Birds says that the "female has no black on the head or tail coverts" (what are the tail coverts) and goes on to say that scientists think it is more related to the thrushes rather than the tits. So.....is your wonderfull image and adult female or juvenile female or male?
