Nice photograph - I agree with Alby - a common blue - probably a female - take a look at this site http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/forums/ there's some good shots showing the difference between the male and female courings

Yep. Definitely a female common blue. Males have more blue scales and no orange spots on the upper wing surfaces. A nice set and I like the clever shots against the sky.
