Extension tubes like those made by Kenko come in a set of 3 of different lengths (exact sizes I forget!) so that you can increase the distance of the lens from the focal plane and get a closer focus - by using any one or combinations of any 2 or all 3 - Kenko ones also have contacts to allow the auto metering functions etc. Dave B
