Yesterday afternoon (early evening), I was able to get a few dove coming in to an old pasture with a barb wire fence around it. The low angle of the sun made for some nice lighting.

OMG...these are beautiful. I cannot remember when I have seen such stunning captures of mourning doves. The focus is tack sharp, colours are real, and the composition is complementary. The BG really makes these birds stand out. Nice lighting. Excellent work.

Great lighting in these Mike. I've been meaning to get out in the evening to shoot, but it's like a sauna out there now that summer is here. I'm afraid my camera would melt. :)

Cooper911....Thank you.....your comments are most kind. When I end up with a good shot, it's never planned.....just pure luck. But I'll settle for luck every now and then.

Mitch.....Thanks......I know what you mean about the weather. We definitely have the 100 degree plus days right now, but we have a dry heat which is much more bearable than the muggy heat that I'm sure you are having to put up with.

Seany.....Thank you.

Hey Mike, if this is the case, then you should be buying lottery tickets every week, cuz your the luckiest person I know!!!

I love your modesty. You routinely post up fantastic pictures, then write it off to luck!!

Another great set LD....can't wait to see what you come up w/ in October....

Nice shots! Looks like it is in full "cooing" action in the last shot...

Mike....You're too kind.....thank you very much.

Daniel.....You are most definitely correct.....that ol' boy was in full "cooing" action.
