If I had to go with one or the other...I would probably go with the macro tubes first...being able to get closer to stuff is pretty cool.

I'm one of those shooters that sees a flahr and just shoots it...if someone were to ask me why...I would say because it looked cool to me...not because I saw in it the inner most sanctity of a child...perhaps one trying to hide their repressed fears of Faustian visions of Satan, but more likely a self-indulgent voyage of self-discovery about the greater meaning of pond scum on the moon.

I just take a shot because it looks good to me as well. But I HAVE considered taking some obscure meaningless shot, bring it to some museum/gallery and try to blag my way into hanging it on their wall by arguing why it shows some deep profound meaning. I stll recall all the "What is art? Is art art as soon s as it's put into a museum, or is it art before?".

actually, I would appreciate some ideas, if you've got any.

Come shoot a wedding with me, Lisa!!! I just got a job tonight for a Sept gig.

Just when I vowed to do no more, the calls started rolling in.;)

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

This raises all sorts of questions...who determines what is art? Does my art have to be your art? How many days must one contemplate taking an out of focus horse tail photo for it to become art? Does anyone really have to believe you spent three weeks thinking about taking a photo of a horse's ass to think that it really is now art?

Hope you get your camera before the end of the day!

anything and everything around us, either captured by anyone or not is art.

however we like defining things and that's what creates the question of what is really art.

I think art has no definition.

so when someone is looking at something for themselves then it's there own limitations that defined weather or not it's art.

Well, that was the thing about all those discussions, they weren't to give answers, but just for people to discuss it endlessly. But I seriously believe that even if something isn't seen as "art" by the general public, stick it into a museum with some obscure explanation and it becomes "art" due to the context in which it's displayed.

And of course, we can't forget that whole segment of the population that want to impress the world with their level of sophistication...so to that end...they dream up grand tales about things to make themselves to appear to have some superior grasp about the world and art.

Yeah, I was wondering what you guys had been doing when I was asleep!!! Teared the place down? Permie maybe did something REALLY bad this time and banning to the WF wasn't enough, so closed the whole thread, or Puddle might have drawn a really mean picture of Pekka or some mod...
