UGH!!

I just discovered my 'brand new' Canon FD 28/2.8 has a SCRATCH on the front element. I thought it was a speck of dust but even scratching at it with a fingernail doesn't take it off. item description on fleabay said clean glass blah blah blah nothing in the optics. The lens is in superb cosmetic condition though.

Oh well.

Anyway not interested in pursuing this. Not for a $24.95 lens (literally). It'd cost me $12 to ship it back to him if I wanted a refund. And I don't get to play with it in the meantime.

Luckily this FD system isn't meant for 'serious' production use. I have my magnificent 28/1.8 USM if I need a top notch 28mm. And I can buy an EOS Elan 7 to go with it for film use.

Just shoot everything at f/2.8. The scratch shouldn't be a factor.

thanks Jim. It's weird to think about all that's happened in a year....but I just realized, I joined the day after the Chief's birthday so I've sort of lived one year of his life

Alot has changed in the past year. When I started the 300 thread, I remember talking to Dante and saying "I cannot believe the mods are letting us get away with this" We kept thinking the thread would be closed or moved. Chatting was not around back then. Alot of you joined us, we first met Lisa and Dan, myself, Dante, Blonde, Billingsley, Woolbur, Lightstream and countless others came together on that thread, Woolbur has since taken the reigns and he we are. Happy one year :D

I have been weeding out the library and ran across this zoo shot from a few months ago. I know.....everybody has a flamingo shot just like this, so I wanted to show you...I do too.
