You may like what you're doing now, but can you see doing it for the next 50 years, until you reach retirement age? Not quite what I am/was doing now. I was the network engineer for a municipal broadband ISP. Full-time, building out, customer support, whole nine yards... Kevin wrote in post #3656188 I can't imagine entering todays job market without a degree in your field of interest. Even a basic BS degree shows that you are committed to complete what you start. 40 to 50 years is a long time to fight off those degreed individuals that may threaten your future. Which is why I am going to attempt to get my degree... Pete wrote in post #3656294 Check out the shots on this website. Some really nice lighting going on there. http://www.lostamerica.com/urbex.html

Though, I would really like to take my own company and actually start doing more with it. I was self-employed for 20 plus years, it worked out great for me.

I was self employed for 12 years, had a software contracting company. It was a struggle. I was small enough to be a friendly everyone knows everyone else kind of place but not big enough to bid for the money making contracts. It came to a choice, either expand greatly or sell. I sold. Not sure why, but call me JJ.

He asked me what camera I had so I held it up to show him. He then went on to tell me that he was a graduate of Brooks Institute a few years ago but decided photography was not his thing. I thought to myself, if you can't look at a rig and identify it then you made the right choice. I'm thinking, the camera body has Canon in big letters and theres a white lens attached. Ive heard of simmilar stories but you put not being able to id a camera next to what i have found in the uk (at the same level of education) of not being to take a shot in focus ! Dom
