Time to hold a fire sale...I have a funny feeling a 20D, 1Ds and a mk2n are going on the block to fund a pair of mk3s...both a D and a Ds

If you think about it... the 20D was released in 2004... it is now 2007 - THREE years and people are still buying it... not bad... not bad at all.

For me...that qualifies as a no brainer....2 bodies are better than one any old day!

That is what I am thinking... I have needed two bodies more than once (one with the telephoto and one with the wide-angle) - so it would be worth it.

I am going to do a shake-up in the lens department... ... in a few weeks.

To a potential non paying or problem bidder.

I'm pissed off, the reason why there is going to be no 40D for me is that resale value absolutely stinks on the lower end models. You buy them and drive them till they fall apart and then you dump them. Or you put them on a shelf and never use them again.

If for no other reason, the pro models hold their value. Or at least the good thing about my 1D2 is that it is already mostly depreciated.

The 1DsM3 is way out of my price range and more camera than I need*. If I won't cough up for a 1DM3, chances are a "s" is even further off the radar.

* it has all the features I don't need, and none of those that I do need...

that's why I am happy to upgrade mine. 4 years with the same camera. it's kinda lost that new camera feel.

Well, yours has been depreciated enough, sorta like my 350D, I'm happy with what I got out of it.

The denouncements continue..

14L Mk2? Who's kidding who? Even as ultrawide freak, I find the 17-40 is the best value out there on FF.

40D weather sealing: Got my 1D2, which will do the job just fine. (plus it is FULL sealing, not basic sealing). And less of a crop.
40D finger hook: very nice. But I have a 5D
40D 14-bit ADC: Very nice
Auto ISO: you gotta be kidding
ISO in VF: Nice but I'm used to memorizing my ISO
Live View: Whatever
3.0" LCD: Whatever
Dust cleaning...naah.
Quieter shutter: Whatever (talk to the Elan 7NE about QUIET..now that is freakin awesome)
High speed drive: impressive for a consumer camera, I have my 1D2
WFT-E3A: Whatever (gonna be expensive this)
BP-E2N: Maybe it won't wobble so much now
AF-ON button: Hate CFn-04 so no go for me (prefer CFn 18-2 on the 1D2, this is one thing I REALLY like about 1D2.. and they had to kill it)

And i was starting to think i was the only one.

I like having AF and AE lock on separate buttons and besides, ive found myself in situations where i would have walked away with no usable shots if it wasnt for AE lock.
