It's JUST a gold ring USM :p

yea that's just me not looking. :o

I really would like the L version tho. I got the 28-135 and it's not made the same, it kinda rattles a little when zoomed out.

That and the lovely whirring focus sound, like something from an 80's sci-fi movie.

Looks like I'm going to be coving a motorsports event next weekend. Get into the pitlane and everything. Sweet, looking forward to that one.

The new 28-105 appears to have some kind of soft 'bump' stop at the zoom end instead of the sharp clack as it hits the stops, too. Very nice. They've definitely made subtle upgrades to this zoom and I'm glad I got a new one instead of buying used.

Just something small. The Fiesta Championship, I'm going to the local race (Brands Hatch). One of the drivers is a member of the car club I belong to. He managed to get us 10 free tickets. It'll just be really neat to be in the pit lane for both days.

I'm thinking the 135L will see plenty of action.

fiesta championship sounds like there is gonna be lots of pushing and shoving :D

the small stuff is often the best no team politics no big wage packets to protect to contract to win just normal guys (and gals) going as fast as possible

Yeah, they might go slower than the big stuff, but there's plenty of tussle in the corners. I'm really looking forward to getting some decent pit lane shots, mechanics at work, the chaos, the personal dedication to the sport. Stuff you don't normally see in the Motorsports section here.
