ROTFLMAO!!!!!! Kit lens goes image stabilized!!

If it was anywhere else, I would be congratulating the poster on a great PhotoChop job. But dang. I know I love my kit lens, and think very highly of it at f/8, but wow.

It's a great way to get all the n00bs IS'ed though. And what a great comeback to Nikon's 18-135 kit lens ("We have the better kit, Canon sucks")

I love my kit lens (I really do, I bought TWO of them), but this is hilarious...

I will admit I have mad respect for the 85L. What a stunning lens. I shot *ONE* frame at 85/1.2 and it blew me away: which is my criteria for a lens which I could truly love. (actually, it's gotta do that within first 3 frames).

mmm ongoing debate, and all about preference really :) but it's more about the fact there's one for sale :) hahaha

yeah great lens... though my MkI copy seems to like to turn on the camera from standby when you 'gyrate' the focus ring... :|

I'm getting more turned on to primes, especially after having the 85 and 135. Now if only I had a WA one, I'd feel complete...

Hold your horses. 14L Mk2 coming out, weather sealed.

Pointless IMO, but if you want to show off, that's a lens you have to have.

The 5D isn't weathersealed, so the lens isn't much of an issue there.

But still, the prices will come down. There's one for sale now, but at USD1,400, it's a bit steep. If he comes down by that $400, then I might be tempted.

Naah. This is POTN, where showing off is actually more important. Having a weather sealed camera despite the fact that you are way too chicken to stand out in the rain means a lot. All you need to do is pretend you are a hero.
