I ain't a hero. I'm significantly less weather sealed than my camera is. I have no intention of changing that.

Good. You are a courageous man with the honesty to admit that, that makes you much better than lots of the equipment braggarts here :)

I'm just a realist.. If it's raining hard enough for me to run under cover, then simply by definition, there's not enough light for adequate photography....

Good point, Dom.

Gotta admit that I'm a wimp.

There, I said it.

There was one time where it rained, but they lit off the fireworks anyway. All the veterans (myself included) stood in the rain to get the shots. That shoot yielded one of the Great Keepers, one of my best shots of all time. I'd gladly stand in the rain again for that shot.

Rain is over-rated.

Yes, the BBC are getting quite liberal. Remember a series a couple of years ago called "Tipping the Velvet"?

Mmmmm, but I never really watched it, just heard the hype. The book wasn't all that though. Couldn't bother finishing it.

See ya, spam... Have good, white dreams...

Hahahah Such a photo geek thing to say! LOL I met one of my female friend's good friend on Saturday and turns out he is a total weather and storm nerd. He also photographs storms and such things and we began to talk photography. We exchanged phone numbers and she told me he was very positive to us having photography in common. :p

Oh, and I'm chicken when it comes to rain. Drizzling is ok, but not rain. Too scared the gear won't work.

Btw, anyone got a problem with the 30D occasionally taking longer time than normal for deleting many RAW files at the same time???

I usually delete my raw files from the card reader, then put it back in the camera.

I never delete files from the card...ever. Once the files are downloaded the card gets formatted.
