Btw, how did Canon drop the ball with the new grip for the 40D? Isn't it so that the new WiFi grip has a AF-ON button, but the new battery grip does not? Was that a mistake, or?
The new grip's backward-compatile with the 20D and 30D; if it'd had the AF-ON button there'd have been connection problems up in the battery compartment (where the WFT-E3 doesn't go).
Hey hey! We live in an age of very advanced technology. Nothing a chainsaw won't fix
BTW, the 350D is way too small even for my smaller hands. Faced with a choice of the chainsaw and better technique, I developed a nifty 3-finger-handhold for the 350D which balances the center of gravity of the whole setup on my left hand. It sure beat losing the last 2 digits

Well, that's where the balance should be. The right hand's for steering and pressing the shutter. It's harder to gently press the shutter if your hand's squeezing the camera for dear life. It's also harder on your hand if you're out for the day.
Well, that's your opinion and you're allowed to have one. I however have always liked a grip on a camera. I think it makes it so much more comfortable when shooting portraits.
And with the 350D I think it's a must, at least for me. It does a lot to balance the camera with a heavier lens.
See above.
Last photo post for awhile - I will get other uploaded to my gallery and link to there so I don't clog the thread with photos...

Wow! That saturation really pops them. Great work Scott.
Okay Yoda...at great personal risk to my reputation (and sanity) here are your box shots (the gallery isn't public because my rep can only take so much )...the last shot was with both tc's and I missed focus a bit (sorry) but it was so bright outside MF was really hard...and inside it was too dark to do a reasonable shoot.
since you didn't want raw (see, I remembered from before), I shot on jpeg L, used "neutral" picture style, iso 500 (because I needed enough light for all the tc's so to keep it the same, I just used iso 500 across the board)...and various apertures (shot in M) & I've left the exif's in tact. The camera was in bright light but the box was in the shade (my yard wasn't big enough for both to be in the same light)....I've left the originals so you can download them at 100%.
The first three are with the 400mm alone and AF. The second 2 are with the 1.4x tc and AF. The next two are with the 2x tc and MF and the last one is with both tc's...
BOX SHOTS FOR YODA
ROFL - that's what you should post in the "Show us your boxes" thread - a closet-full!
A quick question:
Is the 85 f/1.8 prone to flare? I haven really had any chance on using it outside in the sun since I got it. I’ve ordered the hood for it (the ET-65III), but the importer seems to have none, and delivery time is 2-5 weeks. We’re leaving for our honeymoon in a few weeks and it seems like I won’t get the hood before we get back.
Not seen a lot about flare, but some people have had purple fringing. Hood won't help that though, and I don't know of many people who don't have the hood for it. It was my first non-L in a long time, so I naturally forgot. As soon as it arrived I was back on B&H ordering the missing piece!
Already have a B+W UV MRC filter on it Picked that up even before I bought the lens LOL... I also picked up a B+W Density 64X filter for it, hoping to get to experiment with that soon.
64x. That's what? 6 stops? You simulating moonlight at high noon or something?
I've been waiting to do this for a couple months.
I still think a blog is in order.

Fourthed!
How many times have you been out bending the rules? Let alone outright smashing them?
