I just found one of my first photos with my 5D (#31 actually) and I totally blew the highlights but I thought it was such a cute photo (minor PIT) that I couldn't delete it

Where am I in the pic? I can't find me. I must be hiding.

About a week ago a distant relative of mine died. I am not shaken up at all because I met her only once and she isn't one of the "close" family members. Let me see: My Mother's Father's third-wife's daughter's daughter... So like a cousin, kinda...

Anyways - Mom wanted a "card" to put on the memorial wind chimes they bought for the Mother and this is what I came up with:

Printed out looks A LOT better than online - but it got me thinking about making cards like this and selling them.... not sure if there is a market for them...

Very nice, Scott.

Points on marketing.

Do you see this kind of thing already out there in the marketplace? If yes, then ask yourself if you can do it better than what's out there. If no, then ask if anyone would want it if you provided it.

How can you make this easier for the customer? Just cards, or will you add other little benefits as well? For an added cost, they could customize the cards, etc.

If there is not market for this, I honestly don't know if there is or not, but if there is not, sometimes businesses will "create" a need. make the people out there realize that their lives would be so much easier if they buy into your product.

Good luck!

Lisa wants warnings on those shots! You'll have her climbing up Puddle to get away from it!

Pudsy might like that!

Why in the world would you want to repeat 1973. I have no happy memories of that year.

YOu were too young to have really happy memories of that year.;) That summer started a very magical time of my life. :D

T.D. wrote in post #3847262 (external link)
1973 was a good year for me. I was in third grade.

That was the year I told my mom she could no longer hairspray my hair into a "wave" any more. She was crushed. And I went to school without product in my hair for the first time. It was very freeing on both levels. :D

Congratulations, Chris!

All good questions. I personally haven't seen these around, but I don't go into stores that would have them. Fred Meyers, Best Buy, Pro Photo Supply, etc aren't the stores I would look. A store like Hallmark might have something already - but I never go in there

I would say customizable cards - choose your photo, font, and message would be how I would do it if I were to do it at all...

I wasn't even born 1973. :p

I doubt he was either.

I decided to copy my sis and do some deleting of old shots...and I came across these...

we interrupted the GHowl's sleep so at first he looked at us in sleepy surprise

then he looked at us like he smelled something bad

Those were super owl shots. . .Esp the "stinky face" one. I hope you didn't dump them. AND I love this wall!! It would make Cratabulous layer for some of the digital art I used to do.

Are you putting all the Puddle in Trouble shots in a folder for the blog?

There must be some - Ritz offers them (canned content, customer's pictures) on-line. Probably some other places as well.

what frustrates me is that I'm supposed to leave next Friday for 10 days and my dentist is notorious for NOT getting me in in a timely fashion...
