Genuinely impressed by the 40D. It brings out beautiful blue in my skies without me having to work too hard, it's AF is good, it's sharp, like the LCD and like the live view. AF in black hole is fast, too. Highlight tone priority really does work even in JPEG mode (great for Lazy JPEG Shooter). Viewfinder is awesome. Really everything I think the 5DMk2 should be except for the full frame sensor, but 1.6x is helpful for the days I need everything I can get.

That, and PG is tempting me with shots of the 400/2X TC combo.. awesome stuff!

Oh yeah - puddle, thanks for lending Royal Wifeness the 400 to get the shots for me :)

Are you both using Kenko 2x ProDG TC's? The IQ looks good, I could seriously think about a Kenko for that application. Save me a bit more $$ too.

yea I think I am forced to agrea with you on those points. I have even found in the AF is just amazing. even in low light stuff. I point the camera and it just focus. even with that trouble of a sigma lens I have got. I would like to give it a good working tomorrow. However I haven't used it that much, so I have to learn how to use a heavy zoom lens.

I recently got a fancy new big screen TV, but it didn't come with a new camera body. I think I got ripped off... :(

I am trying to order the POTN book. Do I just fill out my address and then hope they will ship from their nearest printer office??
