For the more mathematically inclined - it has been awhile since I had to do algebra (never used it in the workforce).... Had a math test today, and was able to solve them all - but I am not sure if I answered them right :-D

Example: n^2 = 169 solve for both values of n...
OKAY! So I solved for n - but both values of n? I had no idea, so I said 13 and -13 :-) That was probably wrong, but hey - who cares?

the square root of 169 is both 13 and (-13) so you got that one right.;)

As for the 20D being a crappy camera...I was just repeating a comment overheard here on the forum....you know that nobody would tell stories here...if someone in the CF or the LF says the 20D and 28-135 are crap...surely it must be true!:lol::lol:

On the way home from school I stopped by Fry Electronics - I would never buy ANYTHING from there, but it is a good place to go to get your hands on something... anyways - they had the 30D, body only, for $1499!!!

So just because I am mean, I asked if they were going to get the 40D in stock soon, and the guy said next year and it will cost $2700.... OKAY!!! I'll buy two at that price!

wow, I can see why you don't buy anything from there. gezzz you should have turned around and said it's cheaper to buy it in NZ than there. the RRP is $2400

hehe, they are really dumb over there - I bet he had no idea what the 40D was or how much it would cost. He was just tossing numbers out there.

They did have the Canon A570 P&S --- WOW, I am impressed... I might actually get something like that to have in my backpack/car at all times...

Av/Tv/M mode, ISO settings, metering settings, manual focus... for $199 (Fry's, cheaper elsewhere I bet) Very impressive! (oh, and IS)

I actually miss Fry's. They have stores in the L.A. area, but nothing nearer. It's a great place to go if you know what you're looking for and if you're not too hung up on customer service.

They started in the Bay Area, and I almost feel like I grew up with them.

I'm not sure I read it properly, but I think the new G9 supposedly has RAW capability again. The G7 did not, and I was afraid I'd be using my G5 forever.

Looking at the G7, it doesn't look that small from a dimensions standpoint... The A570 could EASILY go on the belt and not bulge out. (I would look like a dork, but hey... :-D )

I love Fry's....they've got a great collection of mac software (on the shelf) which is so rare....and they'll do their online specials (outpost.com) for you if you ask. We got Dan's laptop there for a great deal...

most definitely! And if you get the canon 100mm (or the 90mm tamron) length, it's very usable for other things (nice range and sharpness) as well :)
