Ok so I am sitting here at work bored to tears (almost). I have all my gear in my bag behind me (like it is everyday). I have a tub of bubble gum; so I shoot this. Comments Please. I can always reshoot. What should I do different etc.

I can see that. Does the wrapper ends (ones to the left of the focused piece) draw your eye or is you eyes drawn to the piece that is in focus?
Is the DOF ok or should it be less (with more in focus) or more with less in focus? I keep looking at it and just want to see if I can get this right.

I had hoped I had heard wrong, what with just waking up and all, but; then news was on as I was driving to work and 2 more of the rescuers died last night for a total of 3.

So very sad. My heart grieves for all the families.

this is too sad! I haven't caught up on the news yet (I always catch up here first.)

My eye goes to the place you want - it helps that it is red. ;) If you find the tips of the wrappers a bit distracting you can ever so gently blur them a bit in PS.

Is the DOF ok

DOF looks good to me.

Jamie Holladay wrote in post #3744679 (external link)

Less DOF would give you less in focus. More would give you more in focus. ;)

Thanks Athena. As for the DOF I always get that backwards. Kinda like Debits & Credits when I am beating up Teresa ;)

This is gonna be a day of sitting at home and waiting... Sears called, and the fridge should be arriving sometime between 2:15-4:15. I haven't heard from the guys with the futon and dinette yet. I tried calling the cable installer, but just got voicemail, so I'm waiting for him to call back too. Other than that, I'm just getting a little laundry done, listening to CDs or watching DVDs, and trying to decide where to hang the various photos, paintings, lithographs, etc. (The Spice Girls poster is already up...)

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.
