what would be the best method to do that?

That depends on what tools you are more comfortable with.

You could make a seperate layer, apply very little blur to it (with a filter), mask the entire layer out (paint bucket, black) and then paint back in (paint brush, white) the parts you want blurred.

or

You could make a new layer, select the blur tool, set the amount of blur you want and then paint with it the parts you want blurred.

or probably other ways, but these are the first two that came to mind. ;)

this is what I did do:
Created a new layer / mask / painted out what I did not want blurred then blurred and it worked great. May be the long way to do it but that was the way I kinda knew.

You essentially did the first option I listed with the steps in a different order. ;)

No, not me. But I know a fellow on a different site that is selling two Tamron lenses to replace them with Canons. :)

oh I see. I was wondering if you hated it or something. I miss mine sometimes. Puddle has it and the 17-50 in his bag and every time I think I'd like to borrow the 28-75 he's got it on his camera (I actually think he uses it 3x more than the 17-50). They are both such good little lenses. Lightweight, sharp...I'm a fan

GMAE, all Been a long busy day here already. Plus Twink is acting sick-ish today. But still eating so maybe not so bad.

Lonnie, so glad things are going well for you and you are getting the great stuff for your new home!

Cat, loved the Vader pics and video. Do you have the link to his lolcats photo? I can't find it again.

I don't hate it. Oddly I find colors are a bit cool in photos I take with it, but it's a fun lens. Actually all the Easter pics were taken with it, which reminds me I need to process them! :) Maybe tonight.

Let's not talk about permits and licensing right now, K? *shudder*

I'm not ready to let her go yet. :(

I asked my mom the day I turned 15.....she said "ok:rolleyes:, the DMV is closed tommorow" so she basically stalled and I forgot about it.....Then I got it with my dad after asking him.....hehehe:D

that's interesting. Both Dan and TD thinks it makes their photos warmer and I didn't notice any change on the 5D. I wonder if it varies from copy to copy?

Looking forward to seeing your pseudoEaster shots :)

off to play with my new tubes.

Doesn't TD have your old 5D? I should do a test with it at 50mm. Same setting, one shot with the EF 50mm Canon lens and one with the Tamron - just to compare the colors, nothing else. Would be easier with a tripod...
