that test turned out differently than I expected...the tamron and the 24-105 look very close to the same. Interesting.

Nice Kata! Why'd you decide to buy a new bag?

I really wanted a backpack for days when there is a lot of walking. My recent hike withe the shoulder bag convinced me.

This thing is HUGE!

Now I'm bag poor...

which one is closest to the true color of the room? from looking at the color of the walls in the shots, I like the 24-105's the best...but I'm just curious which is the most accurate?

You looking at the same pics as me? On my calibrated monitor...the 50 and the 24-105 look very similar with the Tammy looking warmer than either of the others.

yeah, when I tilted my monitor differently (I'm on my laptop) it looked different than when I first looked at it...

I think the 50 is the most accurate. The doors/trim are pure white. The walls in that room are tan (can't remember the actual name of the color -- otherwise known as builder beige). I haven't painted that area yet.

I think we can see why there is always such controversy whenever there is a lens discussion...even with calibrated monitors...I suspect that no two of us see those images in exactly the same fashion.

yeah, I was thinking that too....I think that's why processing affects people so differently too...just because even the monitor resolution makes such a difference in colors...all my computers (except the windows one) have calibrated monitors and none of them look the same.

Per Permie & Athena's request, here is my lens test. Remember, I'm not good at this sort of thing.

Luckily my new KATA BP-502 today so I had a willing subject!

No PP whatsoever on any of these. AWB f/4.0 on all (shot on AV)

Thanks for doing that! :) It's interesting. I am pretty sure the same test with mine would give different results. Was the SS the same on all three image? What Picture Style are you set on?

You have a lot of bags - do you use them all? (can you tell that I am here without one? lol I have bag envy)
